The Cords & Co.
A new Swedish brand has entered the scene and is already being hailed as the world’s first premium corduroy fashion brand. Mikael Soderlindh sold his cheerful Happy Socks business back in January in order to create and develop The Cords &Co.
The Cords & Co. launched internationally last week with the opening of their online global store and two stores in Stockholm. The brand recently expanded its physical presence by opening up six Mono Brand flagship stores in L.A, Paris, London, and will be opening their New York store on September 7th 2017.
The Cords & Co. are providing a stylish alternative to denim
Corduroy has always been appreciated for its quality and was originally used as a royal cloth in Europe, dating all the way back to the 18th century. As the fabric proved to be a highly durable material, it began to be used in workwear and slowly integrated into the mainstream. Corduroy saw an enormous popularity boom in the 1970s with corduroy trousers, skirts, jackets, dungarees, and tee shirts getting a lot of traction. This has given corduroy a retro image today, and is something that The Cords & Co. are building on.
The Cords & Co. are remoulding the retro image of corduroy, adding a contemporary spin to the fit, cut, and colours previously associated with the time old classics. Their mission is to revive the once-forgotten fabric with their unique designs, careful craftsmanship, and passion for delivering a high-quality product.
These beautifully fitted corduroy designs have already demonstrated that this brand is one to watch. Their exclusive indigo corduroy and velvet fabrics have been developed at a boutique mill in Japan and have certainly caught our eye here at Seagate Hastings.
We are proud to say that we will soon be stocking a number of the Cord & Co. indigo trousers, including their stylish narrow fitted , PER Raw Indigo, WES True Indigo, BUD Mid Indigo and more. Follow uson Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter and we will let you know when the goods are in.
